It was an 8-week expert-led immersive program where we featured specialized seminars on topics including strategy and growth, data analysis, machine learning and more. Microsoft Scale-up Accelerator (East & West Africa) Earlier in 2022, Microsoft announced plans to support 10,000 start-ups in Africa over the next five years through a series of initiatives, including partnerships with accelerators and incubators across the continent. In line with this commitment, Microsoft partnered with Greenhouse Labs to launch an acceleration program targeted at pre-series A start-ups looking to launch in new markets. Microsoft provided the industry-based African pre-series A stage start-ups with access to new markets, technology infrastructure, technical skills, and funding opportunities to aggressively scale their solutions. GIBE GIBE was set up by Venture Garden Group as a vehicle to identify, impact, and impart knowledge to tech savvy young minds solving real African problems. The inaugural class of 2013 hosted a group of 11 brilliant startups and developed their technical, business, managerial, and strategic skills. These companies were equipped with the tools to become fully functional and investable businesses that could scale with trackable metrics. From this group GIBE discovered startups like PrepClass, Riby, and ESL, all of which are still in existence today and have graduated to become Greenhouse Capital portfolio companies with an additional seed round investment. Greenhouse Lab 2018 The first of its kind in Nigeria, GreenHouse Lab is a 3-month accelerator program founded by Venture Garden Group and GreenHouse Capital to fund early stage women-led and gender diverse tech companies in Africa; as well as African run start-ups domiciled in the US or UK with products that are scalable in African markets. Greenhouse Lab 2019 Following the highly successful inaugural cohort of Greenhouse Lab in 2018, the 2019 edition once again took place in Lagos’ Vibranium Valley tech hub, and expanded to include 10 startups from 5 African countries. As part of the investor readiness acceleration program, the companies gained access to a lucrative suite of resources, including an immersive, tech-focused curriculum led by Google mentors and industry experts; products, resources, and proof of concept opportunities with Greenhouse Lab partners, including Google Launchpad, AWS Activate, and Venture Garden Group; the opportunity to receive investment from Greenhouse Capital and their global network of investors; amongst others. NES25 Startup Pitch Competition & Bootcamp Greenhouse Capital in partnership with Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) organized the 25th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES25) startup pitch competition on October 6th, 2019. In the lead up to the event, Greenhouse Capital hosted the 10 pitch competition finalists at their Vibranium Valley tech hub for an intensive, week-long bootcamp aimed at helping them improve their business models as well as prepare their pitches for the grand finale. Hackaholics 2.0 Following the success of Hackaholics 2019, the Wema Bank is set to host the second edition, Hackaholics 2.0. themed ‘Connecting Worlds’ in partnership with Greenhouse Capital. The hackathon focused on scaling up existing solution providers through a pitch competition and accelerator. The winning solutions will receive up to $40,000 in funding alongside other numerous non-cash benefits like access to market, working with renowned industry experts, APIs amongst other resources.
